About
We all experience low moods now and then. It can be a result of sadness after a loss or disappointment, or it might come on for no clear reason.
When someone has a low mood, they might struggle with finding motivation to do things. On the other hand, depression tends to be more severe, impacting the ability to work, socialize, and manage daily tasks like housework.
Usually, a low mood lifts after a few days or weeks. However, If it doesn't, it might indicate depression. Signs of depression include:
Feeling consistently down for 2 weeks or more
Losing interest in life
Feeling hopeless and worthless
Being constantly tired or lacking energy
Changes in appetite, either eating too much or too little
Sleeping more than usual or having trouble sleeping
Difficulty focusing on everyday activities like reading or watching TV
